The never ending story

My e-book is currently being prepared, revised and re-edited, hopefully it should be available for purchase within the next month.
I originally submitted this book/story to a US publisher three years ago and they charged me $300 just to accept it and as you will see from my story, this money that I had to pay to the publishers to accept my book is a lot of money for me these days and even to this day I still don't know what the $300 was charged for. All that I ever received from them was one copy of my book from the draft book that I had to send to them in .pdf format and they don't print any more hard copy books until they get definite orders and even then, they take 80% and I just get 20% of the total retail price. so what was the $300 for? It seems like a publishing scam to me.
This new e-book, unlike my draft book submitted to the US publishers, I am in complete control of and as such I think that I should introduce myself properly to the discerning individuals that may decide to purchase it.
My real name is Ian Reed and John McMiken is just my writing name. I am a British citizen and I am now an amputee living a recluse life alone in Thailand. I first came to Thailand in June of 1984, I came here to take care of the installation of a new air defence simulator system for the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) at Don Muang Air Base near Bangkok, the book itself will explain in much more detail and I am just giving you a basic overview of the story here. When I first came to Thailand, I was already married to a British girl and we had two children, one boy named Douglas aged 10 years and a girl named Cheryl aged 4 years. I had always been completely faithful to my British wife ever since we were married, but the long simulator installation project in Thailand led me into sexual temptation and like the 'fool' that I now call myself, I fell for a Thai bar girl and before returning to the UK, she was already pregnant with our first child.
I later divorced my UK wife and came to live in Thailand in February of 1986 with the intention of starting a whole new life here with this Thai girl and my then five month old son with her. The story itself doesn't start with this action, the story in this e-book starts in the year 2001 when I had an almost fatal road traffic accident in Thailand which left me with just one leg. My life had changed a lot in the intervening years after my first move to Thailand in 1986 and many things happened that I was definitely not expecting, incidents that would not be usual for most other people. These are all covered in my e-book and I am just writing this introduction so that people who are interested in purchasing this e-book will have a good idea about the outlines of the story.
I refer to this e-book as the 'Autobiography of a fool' and you will understand why if you decide to read it, I do hope that other people can learn from the many mistakes that I made in the name of 'love' in my story and I hope that they will not make the same mistakes themselves with bad people (Thai girls), like I did.
I shall link to the e-book site on here just as soon as it is available, but at the moment I am just making a few more additions to the story, that I overlooked on the first draft copy of this book that I sent to the publishers.
Due to unforeseen circumstances my e-book has now been further delayed, this is due to changes in my personal circumstances that I cannot control and which may be followed by reading my Legless blog.
